Top 10 Air Conditioning Installation Companies in London 2026

Last Update: 7 September 2026

Choosing an air conditioning company in London is not just about finding the highest Google rating.

A good installer needs to choose the right size system, fit it neatly, explain the cost clearly and come back if something goes wrong.

For this 2026 guide, Companies.London reviewed publicly available company information and recent customer reviews for 10 London air conditioning installers. We looked closely at what customers said about installation quality, communication, cleanliness, punctuality, price and aftercare.

We did not contact the companies, ask for quotes or carry out mystery shopping. This guide is based on public information available in September 2026.

Which London Air Conditioning Company Is Best for You?

For a normal home installation, our research puts All Star Air Conditioning, Debonair Cooling and Cool 365 among the strongest all-round choices.

However, the best company changes depending on your property.

Company Best For What Stood Out Main Point to Check Before Booking
1. All Star Air Conditioning Best overall for homes Strong installation and communication feedback Confirm the final warranty and full quoted price
2. Debonair Cooling Premium home installations Strong current reviews, Daikin D1+ status Ask about repair response during very busy periods
3. Cool 365 Ltd Installation plus long-term servicing Tidy work and strong recent service feedback Confirm which warranty applies to your chosen unit
4. Airconcool Clear advice and system choices Customers often praise surveys and explanations Check any access or lifting costs before work starts
5. The Air Conditioning Company Long-established installer More than 35 years of trading and 10-year warranty offer Recent reviews include communication complaints
6. Be Cool Refrigeration & Air-conditioning Repairs and emergency support 24/7 support and broad technical work Get servicing and call-out prices in writing
7. Cool You UK London flats with no outdoor condenser Specialist fully internal AC systems Pay close attention to maintenance and warranty terms
8. Air Options Ltd Offices and commercial buildings Strong commercial HVAC experience Less suited to a simple residential comparison
9. Breezwell Ltd Fast installations Very strong recent installation comments Much of the visible review activity is very recent
10. Aircono Smaller residential and commercial jobs Personal service and quick installations Check aftercare and final costs carefully

This order is aimed mainly at a London homeowner looking for a new fixed AC installation. A business with a large office, hotel or commercial site may put Air Options much higher because its work is heavily focused on commercial HVAC.

How Did We Compare the Companies?

We did not simply copy each company’s Google rating.

A five-star review saying “great company” tells a reader very little. A detailed review explaining how the survey worked, whether the engineer arrived on time, how clean the installation was and what happened when something failed is much more useful.

We therefore gave more weight to detailed reviews from customers who described a real installation, repair or maintenance visit.

We also checked company websites for services, qualifications, warranties and the types of systems offered. This matters because businesses working on air-conditioning equipment containing F-gas need the appropriate certification. GOV.UK says companies installing, repairing, maintaining or decommissioning this equipment must hold the required company certification.

1. All Star Air Conditioning – Best Overall for Home Installation

All Star Air Conditioning

Best for: Homeowners wanting a straightforward split or multi-room AC installation.

All Star stood out because its customer feedback is unusually consistent around the things that matter during an installation: communication, neat workmanship, speed and professionalism.

One recent customer compared three quotes and said All Star’s price was competitive. The reviewer was worried about holes and pipework in newly finished walls but said the installer produced a neat solution. Another customer described two units being fitted smoothly, with the installers arriving as promised, working efficiently and leaving the home clean.

There is also useful evidence around price. Several customers said All Star was competitive or fairly priced. One reviewer did say it was not the cheapest quotation, but still felt the service and final result justified choosing the company.

All Star’s website says it handles domestic and commercial installations, including split, ducted and VRF/VRV systems. It also states that its engineers are F-Gas registered and that it carries out manufacturer-approved installations.

Our view: A strong starting point for most homeowners. Get an itemised quotation and compare it against at least two other installers, but the real customer evidence around installation is strong.

2. Debonair Cooling – Best for Premium Daikin Installations

Debonair Cooling

Best for: Homeowners who want a premium branded system and place a high value on neat installation.

Debonair is a Daikin D1+ installer and says its Daikin systems can include a seven-year product warranty, with warranties of five to ten years referenced across its services. It also states that its engineers are REFCOM certified.

The newest reviews we collected were particularly useful. One customer said the team was prompt, tidy and thorough even when equipment shortages meant units arrived at different times. Another Google review showed a £1,200–£1,400 price band for a 3.5kW Daikin Sensira installation and praised the installation team.

There is a reason not to ignore the negative reviews, however. One customer reported a poor repair experience during a very busy heatwave period. Debonair replied that it was receiving more than 200 enquiries and was understaffed while a repair engineer was away.

That does not cancel the large amount of positive installation feedback. It does show why buyers should ask an important question before signing:

“If my system fails in July or August, how quickly can you normally send a repair engineer?”

Our view: One of the strongest choices for a new premium home installation, especially if Daikin is already on your shortlist. Aftercare response during peak summer demand is worth discussing before you buy.

3. Cool 365 Ltd – Best Balance of Installation and Maintenance

Cool 365 Ltd

Best for: People who want one company to install the system and service it afterwards.

Cool 365 has some of the strongest recent review evidence in our comparison.

A customer who had four AC units fitted said the company won the job after several quotes because of price, service and attention to detail. The customer described the installation as clean and quick. Another long-term customer said Cool 365 had serviced their system for years before they later chose the company to install another unit.

Even newer reviews tell a similar story. Customers mention polite installers, minimal disruption, good advice and reliable maintenance. One Google installation review also displayed a price band of £1,000+, although this should not be treated as a standard Cool 365 price because every installation is different.

Cool 365 states that it is REFCOM F-Gas certified, installs for homes and businesses, works with Daikin and Mitsubishi systems and offers extended warranties. Its website also advertises a ten-year warranty.

Our view: One of the easiest companies to shortlist if you care about both the first installation and what happens in later years.

4. Airconcool – Best for Clear Advice Before Installation

Airconcool

Best for: Homeowners who want several options explained before choosing a unit.

A repeated theme in Airconcool’s reviews is the survey stage.

Customers talk about being shown different installation options rather than being pushed towards one system. One homeowner said four companies had quoted but chose Airconcool because of the range of options and the time spent explaining them. Another said two units were fitted in one day and the property was left tidy.

Other reviews praise communication, neat work and quick installations. Customers also describe Mitsubishi, Daikin, Fujitsu and Midea systems in their installations.

Airconcool’s website says it is REFCOM certified, offers free site surveys and provides residential and commercial installation, repair and maintenance across London and Surrey.

We did find an older dispute involving the communication of a quotation and the need for lifting equipment for an outdoor unit. The company responded publicly and said the cost and lifting requirement had been included in its written quotation.

Our view: A good choice when the property is awkward or you are unsure which system layout is best. Ask for every extra access cost to be shown clearly before accepting the quote.

5. The Air Conditioning Company – Best for Long Trading History

The Air Conditioning Company

Best for: Buyers who want a long-established business and a long warranty.

The Air Conditioning Company says it was established in 1986 and has operated continuously for more than 35 years. It installs, repairs and maintains fixed systems across London and the Home Counties and advertises a ten-year warranty on installations.

Its customer reviews contain plenty of long-term evidence. Customers describe yearly servicing, repeat installations and systems that have continued working for years. One customer said the engineers were punctual, polite and tidy during servicing.

But this is also a good example of why we did not look only at positive reviews.

A recent installation enquiry resulted in a detailed complaint. The customer said a planned survey was incorrectly recorded as completed, follow-ups were missed and the quoted waiting time eventually moved from four weeks to eight weeks.

Another reviewer described problems during an installation project while still praising the engineers themselves as professional and courteous.

Our view: The long history and warranty are important strengths. During very busy summer periods, however, ask for a clear survey date and installation timetable before paying anything.

6. Be Cool Refrigeration & Air-conditioning – Best for Repairs and Emergency Support

Be Cool Refrigeration & Air-conditioning

Best for: Homes and businesses that want installation, maintenance and emergency repair from the same company.

Be Cool is broader than a normal domestic installer. It works with air conditioning and commercial refrigeration and advertises 24/7 emergency support.

Its website states that it has F-Gas-certified engineers and provides installation, repair and maintenance across London. It lists brands including Daikin, Mitsubishi Electric, Fujitsu, Samsung, LG, Panasonic and Toshiba.

Recent customer feedback supports its repair capability. One customer described technicians arriving at 7:30pm after a long day during a heatwave and getting the AC working. Another praised the company’s technicians for repeated servicing and repair work.

Installation comments are also positive. A recent customer described three Daikin units being fitted and called the company competitively priced and professional.

There are, however, complaints worth reading. One reviewer complained about the cost of servicing three units and said the final work felt poor value. Another customer said nobody arrived for a booked appointment and the promised callback never came.

Our view: Particularly attractive if repair and emergency support matter to you. Get maintenance, call-out and deep-clean charges written down before booking.

7. Cool You UK – Best for Flats Where an Outdoor Unit Is a Problem

Cool You UK

Best for: London apartments where a normal outdoor condenser is difficult or not allowed.

Cool You is different from most companies in this list.

Its main speciality is a fully internal air-conditioning system. The condenser can sit inside a utility area or other suitable internal space rather than being fixed to the outside of the building.

That makes it particularly interesting for London flats.

Customer feedback on the actual installations is often excellent. One customer said two units were installed in under two hours, with the flat left clean and tidy. Another praised the appearance of the installation because there were no unattractive external pipes or condenser.

Cool You currently advertises a six-year parts-and-labour warranty on the room unit, internal condenser and refrigeration pipework, subject to a maintenance agreement. Its website gives a lead-in price of £5,150 for its fully internal water-cooled system for qualifying residential end users.

The important issue is aftercare.

One recent reviewer described waiting 33 days after reporting a fault despite paying for annual maintenance to retain warranty cover. The customer described repeated calls and messages without a confirmed repair date.

Another reviewer complained that quotations changed during a project and said additional payment was requested before the warranty was provided.

At the same time, other long-term customers describe good maintenance and responsive support, so the feedback is clearly mixed rather than uniformly poor.

Our view: Cool You solves a problem that most conventional installers cannot solve as neatly. For that reason it can still be the best company on this entire list for certain London flats. Before ordering, read the maintenance agreement, warranty conditions and repair process carefully.

8. Air Options Ltd – Best for Commercial Air Conditioning

Air Options Ltd

Best for: Offices, retail premises, healthcare, hospitality, IT rooms and larger commercial buildings.

Air Options is not the obvious first choice for somebody who simply wants one bedroom cooled.

It is much more interesting for businesses.

The company says it designs, installs, maintains and repairs commercial HVAC systems and has F-Gas-qualified engineers. It has a London office in Spitalfields and works with manufacturers including Daikin, Mitsubishi, Fujitsu, Panasonic, Samsung and Toshiba.

The customer reviews we collected were less numerous and generally older than those for some residential specialists, but the pattern was positive. Customers repeatedly described the company as professional, responsive and reliable. One business customer praised the planning carried out before work because it reduced disruption. Another long-term customer said Air Options had installed AC in a previous office and continued to maintain the system for years afterwards.

Our view: For a large commercial project, Air Options would move much higher in our shortlist. For a simple bedroom installation, residential specialists provide more directly relevant customer evidence.

9. Breezwell Ltd – Strong Recent Installation Feedback

Breezwell Ltd

Best for: Buyers wanting a quick London installation and clear quotation process.

Breezwell’s recent reviews are very positive.

Customers repeatedly mention engineers arriving on time, clean installations and good communication. One reviewer said the team explained everything clearly and left the work area tidy. Another described the installation as professional, punctual and efficient.

Its website says its engineers are REFCOM certified and that installations include manufacturer warranty cover. It supplies systems from brands including Toshiba, Daikin and Mitsubishi Electric.

There is one reason we rank it below some older competitors: a very large part of the visible review activity we collected was concentrated in a short recent period, with many reviews posted around the same month. Some are detailed, while others are only a sentence or two.

That does not mean the reviews are invalid. It simply means we would give more weight to the detailed reviews and continue watching the longer-term pattern.

Our view: Worth including in a three-quote comparison, particularly if its proposed system and price are competitive.

10. Aircono – Good Installation Feedback but More Mixed Aftercare Evidence

Aircono

Best for: Homeowners who prefer dealing with a smaller London AC specialist.

Aircono works on domestic and commercial installations, maintenance and repairs in London. Its website says it has more than ten years of experience and lists a North London base.

Several recent customers praised Sebastian and the team for professional work, punctuality and clear explanations. One commercial customer described the experience before, during and after installation as smooth.

There is also positive feedback about aftercare. One customer said the company remained available for support and servicing after installation.

But other experiences were significantly different.

One reviewer said their system worked for only a few months and that they later had to use another company to fix it. Another complained that the final invoice was almost twice what they had expected.

A further reviewer described a serious problem after a service visit involving water near an electrical outlet. That is the reviewer’s account and should not be treated as an independently established finding, but it is serious enough for a prospective customer to consider.

Our view: There is clearly positive customer evidence, but the negative experiences make written pricing and aftercare terms especially important.

What Did Real Customers Tell Us About London AC Installers?

The biggest lesson from reading real reviews was simple:

A good installation is only half of the job.

Most happy customers talked about neat pipework, clean rooms, engineers arriving when promised and clear explanations.

The most serious complaints were different. They usually appeared after something went wrong.

Customers complained about waiting for repairs, missed callbacks, unexpected additional charges or confusion about what a warranty covered.

That means a buyer should not ask only:

“How much will installation cost?”

Also ask:

“What happens if this stops working during a heatwave?”

That single question may tell you more about an installer than a £100 difference between quotations.

What Should Be Included in an AC Installation Quote?

Before paying a deposit, compare quotations line by line.

Check What You Want to See
AC model Exact manufacturer and model
System size kW output for each room
Number of units Indoor and outdoor units clearly stated
Pipework Route and approximate length
Condensate drainage How water will be removed
Electrical work Included or charged separately
Trunking Included and where it will be visible
Access Scaffolding, lifting equipment or roof access
Making good Who repairs holes or decoration
VAT Clearly included or excluded
Warranty Length and exactly what it covers
Maintenance Whether annual servicing is compulsory
Extra charges Call-outs, parking and other possible costs

This matters because some of the negative reviews we found across different companies involved extra costs that customers said they had not expected.

How Much Does Air Conditioning Installation Cost in London?

There is no honest single price for London AC installation.

A small bedroom with an outdoor condenser close to the indoor unit is very different from a four-bedroom property with long pipe runs, scaffolding and multiple indoor units.

Some real Google reviews we collected give useful examples.

A recent Debonair reviewer showed a Google price band of £1,200–£1,400 for a 3.5kW Daikin Sensira installation.

Recent All Star reviews showed price bands around £1,000+, with several customers saying the company was competitive after comparing other quotes.

A recent Cool 365 installation review also showed £1,000+.

These numbers should not be treated as standard company prices. They are price information displayed alongside individual customer reviews, and the installations are not identical.

Cool You is also not directly comparable. Its fully internal water-cooled system currently has an advertised starting point of about £5,150, because it solves a different problem and does not use a normal outside condenser.

The safest approach is to get three detailed quotations for the same specification.

Do You Need Planning Permission for Air Conditioning in London?

Sometimes.

The Planning Portal says home air conditioning may fall under permitted development if all conditions are met. Importantly, those rights apply to systems that provide heating, including systems that both heat and cool. Cooling-only systems do not receive those same rights.

Homes in conservation areas and listed buildings can face additional permission requirements.

London flats add another issue. Even where planning permission is not the main problem, your lease or building management rules may restrict an outdoor condenser.

This is one reason fully internal systems such as Cool You can be useful.

Do not accept a simple statement that “air conditioning never needs planning permission.” Ask the installer what applies to your exact property, and check with the relevant authority or building management where necessary.

Which AC Installer Would We Choose?

For a normal London house or flat where a standard outdoor condenser is possible, All Star Air Conditioning would be our first company to ask for a quote, followed closely by Debonair Cooling and Cool 365.

The decision changes for special cases.

For a large office or commercial site, Air Options deserves serious consideration. For a difficult London apartment where an outside condenser cannot easily be fitted, Cool You may offer the most practical solution despite the aftercare concerns found in some reviews. For a customer who values emergency repair capability, Be Cool is particularly interesting.

The important point is that there is no single winner for every property.

A good final decision should combine the right system, a clear written price, qualified installation and believable aftercare.

Final Checklist Before You Pay a Deposit

Before choosing an installer, make sure you know the exact unit being installed, the full price including VAT, where all pipework will run, whether electrical work is included, what the warranty covers, whether yearly servicing is compulsory, what a future repair call-out costs and how quickly breakdowns are normally handled during summer.

Also check the installer has the correct F-Gas qualifications or company certification where required. UK rules require proper certification for companies carrying out installation, repair and maintenance work on relevant F-gas air-conditioning systems.

A cheap quote can save a few hundred pounds today. A well-designed system with reliable aftercare can matter for the next ten years.
